Altar Project

The Altar Project is Darrell Ross's vision of an artist installation of hand cast paper figures, "spirit" books and luminaries. Made up of seven stations in which a participant/viewer offers a stone that represents something important in their life. After the seventh and last offering/sacrifice the individual knows what the most important thing in their life is.

The hand made paper pieces are made from recycled paper and also signify the renewed form that they became. The word sacrifice means to release something old and make room for something better and new. Just as the paper pieces have done so will the participant.
